Confidence building and help with Maths and English KS1, KS2 and KS3

Sometimes school is not enough.  Having been a teacher for most of my career in a classroom setting, I understand the challenges of large class sizes, differentiation complexities, restricted budgets for key resources, including additional teacher assistant support and SEN intervention. Consequently, I have the greatest admiration for teachers who try their level best to accommodate all pupils in one class… I was one of them! But, as a teacher and a parent, I also know that there’s no substitute for one-to-one teaching.

I will provide a calm, positive, focused environment, reducing anxiety by eliminating peer pressure and fostering a productive and happy teacher/student relationship.

I can quickly identify specific areas where a student is struggling and adapt to their preferred learning style, helping them to grasp more complex concepts and build foundational knowledge.

COVID left many of our children with significant gaps in their learning; I can plug those gaps and get your child back on course with their studies.

Students can learn at their own speed, ensuring they fully understand work before moving on, which is beneficial for both catching up and challenging advanced learners.

This approach will naturally impact into school life where your child will enjoy increased confidence, better engagement and higher grades.

'Robiane has a wonderful ability to connect personally and tailor lessons so that every literacy and numeracy need is met in a way that feels engaging and achievable. Not only does she help my daughter feel prepared academically, but she also gives her the confidence to believe in herself.'

'As a teacher, Robiane is warm, kind, and genuinely caring. She is determined, sets clear expectations, and utilizes a positive, structured approach that brings the absolute best out of everyone.
She managed to transform our son, who was once profoundly discouraged and hated school because of his struggles with math, into a happy, focused student who is now confidently ahead of his class.'

Home School Tutoring

Many parents these days choose to educate their children at home, possibly for the reasons outlined above or to provide a nurturing setting where education is not prescribed as rigidly as in a school setting, giving parents the freedom to adapt a curriculum to their own specifications.

Or perhaps your child may be needing some temporary time away from school to recuperate with mental health issues which sadly seem to be more prevalent today due to the stresses of modern living and the pressures which young people encounter.

Your child’s home environment, combined with my online tutoring will provide a supportive learning environment to build self-confidence and self-esteem.  It offers a focused setting free from the distractions and noise of a typical classroom, improving concentration and reducing anxiety.

Research shows that homeschooling with a tutor can lead to higher rates of achievement with students sometimes outperforming their peers.

I am more than happy and confident to provide a creative curriculum which will encompass a range of subjects to supplement a meaningful and congruent curriculum for your child.

Exam Preparation: KS2 and KS3

I offer tailored support for a range of entrance assessments, including the Kent 11+, 13+ Common Entrance, independent school exams, and late grammar school entry.

I have assisted many pupils to gain entry into the schools of their choice. Exams can be testing but they don’t have to be torturous!

With my range of experience in this field, I can help your child overcome challenges, develop self-discipline in the process and gain a deeper understanding of subjects, ultimately achieving academic goals more effectively.

Support is personalised to each pupil, helping them stay motivated and make steady, measurable progress throughout their preparation.

'Robiane was a marvellous Maths and English tutor to our two girls for many years. She transformed their understanding of both subjects, with lasting effect. Her humanity and kindness really shone through, and she made her sessions fun, setting tired - and sometimes irritable - children at immediate ease. We soon thought of Robiane as one of the family. It was a genuine wrench to stop those lessons once the kids grew older. Our sincere thanks to her.'

'Robiane held our discouraged son's hand every step of the way through his GCSE years.  We were doubtful he would gain a Level 4 pass, his predicted grades in both English Language and Literature being Level 3s, but thanks to Robiane he rose 2 levels in English Language and 3 grades in English Literature achieving Level 5 and 6 passes. We were thrilled!'

With my range of experience in this field, I can help your child overcome challenges, develop self-discipline in the process and gain a deeper understanding of subjects, ultimately achieving academic goals more effectively.
